In their own words:

It was June 2011 and Jana just happened to come to South Africa on a carefree vacation to visit family and friends.
The weekend after she landed, she was invited to attend a winter camp at Hartebeespoort Dam and TG also just happened to be at this camp.

Jana and TG shared a few glances on the first day of the camp but there wasn’t much time to chat. The following day, TG went back to Johannesburg to work for the day and when he returned he called Jana over.
“I have something for you, since it was so cold last night and I know you are sick,” he said as he took a quilt that his Ouma made for him and a bag of medicine out of the car. “I don’t want you to get sicker.” Little did TG know Jana’s dad is a doctor, so she already had every medicine imaginable in her bag.

After this loving gesture, the two of them spent hours talking and laughing and watching sunrises.
When the weekend came to an end, TG called Jana over and said:  “Thanks for making me feel something for you”.

After Jana’s vacation in South Africa, TG immediately booked a plane ticket to visit Jana in Canada that following December. And after a few years of long distance, Jana moved to South Africa in May 2014. TG proposed in December 2014, and their beautiful wedding followed on 23 May 2015 at Oppiduin in Lambert’s Bay, South Africa.
